Judge Ashby is recognized as a dedicated guardian of the court, with a sterling reputation for fairness and equity. Specializing in complex civil litigation, The Honorable Anne Ashby was appointed to the 134th State District Court by Governor Bill Clements in 1989 and elected in 1990 and reelected in 1994 and 1998 on the Republican ticket. Previously, Judge Ashby was elected to the County Court at Law #3 in 1987, as well as served as Master/Referee of the 304th District Court from 1982-86 and as Assistant District Attorney under the leadership of Henry Wade from 1980-1982. She was honored with the ABOTA “Judge of the Year” Award in 2001, recognized by both plaintiffs and defendants in the trial bar. Judge Ashby brings “bench-wisdom” to the table in all endeavors.
