Hon. Gloria Saldaña

San Antonio, TX

Judge Saldaña is a native of San Antonio and is fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish. Opportunities for travel, domestically and internationally, and a year-long residence at camp Humphreys in South Korea in the '60's increased appreciation and respect for our country's values and beliefs, prompting her civic involvement in a variety of volunteer activities long before law school. Judge Saldaña is involved with entities such as the San Antonio Conservation Society, the San Antonio Junior Symphony Society, the United Way, the San Antonio Literacy Council teaching English as a Second Language and many other civic organizations. She obtained her accounting degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and her law degree from St. Mary's University. As a jurist, she presided over complex commercial civil litigation, high conflict family and child protection cases and sensitive cases regarding confidential trade secrets seeking extraordinary injunctive relief. Before she was elected as a trial judge in 2007, Judge Saldaña was a trial lawyer with a general practice in business, family, criminal, personal injury, probate, immigration, and appellate law. She first joined the State Bar College in 1996 and was a sustaining member for approximately twenty years. She attained certification as a mediator in 1991; became a certified arbitrator in 2016; and has served as a private judge.
